    Christmas Came a Little Early

Just got a new to me Toy. Contender Easy Open frame with 12 inch Custom Shop SS Barrel chambered in 300 Whisper. Previous owner had rim cut so 357 Max Brass can be used. It is fitted with a Vais Brake and wears BullBerry custom furniture. It is topped with a Warne base, 30mm Burris Signature rings and a 6.5 - 20 x50mm Burris MTac scope. Came with 150+ Brass and Redding loading dies. Can't wait to get some ammo loaded and get to the bench.

Hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving
    Doug

That's a nice handgun, and the rimmed whisper makes a lot of sense in a single shot. Should be loads of fun.

I am going to a large Antique gun show this weekend up in Novl, MI and hope to find something unique for my own Xmas present. Anymore the hunt for unique guns is as fun as shooting them. I really like most of the pre 1898 rifles and own a good bit of them but I only buy guns I can shoot, no wall hangers.
I am not one who needs high grade engraved models or guns that are 100 % original as I don’t just buy them to look at. My wife and I just don’t know what to buy each other so we get our own toys for Xmas.

That pretty much describes us.....and me as far as firearms go.

My sincere congrats and best wishes! A T/C Contender has pretty much always been on my wish/want list with the ubiquitous "when I had money, none around; when one popped up -- I was broke!" being the case. The set-up you fortuned upon almost has me drooling ! At one time I had a Savage Striker in .22-250 and seeing the barrel cuts on yours makes me recall it was "tied" with a .30 Carbine Ruger revolver as "loudest gun at the range".
I'd wager your Contender would also be a contender for this !
    Again -- congrats!

Bet it was a good light show! With my contender and the 221 it easy to see why it’s called the fireball! Have fun but beware, Contenders tend to multiply, I have 3 frames and 12 barrels all great fun. Tim

Make sure you wear ear protection even when hunting! I made that mistake just once with a braked Contender 10" in 7mm TCU. I got the buck but permanently lost some of my hearing.
