C2 class mini-lathe timing belt dies after 17 years of use

While parting a barrel blank, my lathe emitted a creaking sound and stopped spinning.
When I removed the motor hood, I found only a bunch or raveled nylon thread around the motor gear and no signs of the belt.
Originally, these lathes have a clear plastic belt, so that clear plastic crumbled and dropped from the nylon core and remained at the bottom of the lathe as amber granules.
If your belt is older than 12-15 years then it's time to check on its condition before it causes work stoppage. I've neglected it, so I will be waiting for a slow boat from China.

i would look for someone in the states with one as the slow boat from china lately has turned into a sinking boat with very little parts coming in.
Don't like being hammered by the Cast Boolits Staff, then don't be a nail.
The rules are simple to follow.

Try https://littlemachineshop.com/produc...1105&category= $14.95 plus shipping, and they're in stock in the USA.

Got a lot of 5 for $5, at my door. Made in the same factory as those that LMS sells for 15x the price plus $20 shipping. The wait was about the same that it would have been from LMS.

So you're not going to share your source, eh? Hadn't noticed you were in Canada, before. I traded my 7x10 for a couple of Unimat SL's, so won't be having that particular problem until & unless I get another mini-lathe. Glad you're back in operation, anyway!

Hint: search aliexpress. Do not stop until you come across a lot of 5 for under $5.
