A neck shot at 170 yards is unethical. I would kick his ass. Only a fool takes a neck shot at 170 yards with open sights. I would not be proud of my son for being stupid.

My opinion is the boy took a shoulder shot and hit the neck....pure luck.

I am appalled that people encourage, enable and applaud this kind of BS or lack critical thinking skills.

BTW, for those of you supporting this BS, do you know anyone who could make the shot. Did you ever have the capability of making that shot on your best days? And if you had the marksmanship skills, would you risk the shot?

The boy did not make a good shot....he missed his POA by about 16-20”.

I think you may have decreased your firearm inventory by one.

Jeez man be happy ! one shot + dead deer = kid grinning -----did he get lucky ? only one person knows that fer sure ....If it was me did that shot and meant it there would be a plastic plate posted here tomorrow with five .348cal holes in it and an expectation of an apology -- most of us aint that good but he just might be..................Dad says he made a good stalk, if he had a decent rest and good eyes ? the gun is certainly up to the job ...................

Congrats to your son. I used to load .348 for a friend. When you get a chance, can you see if you sent the 30-40 brass?

Tasty venison for the freezer and a nice rack for the wall. Good shooting!

Obviously you've never shot long range matches! 4 inch bulls at 200 yards....
