I size all my bullets regardless of caliber but especially in 9mm. There are so many variables in brass & final bullet size that sizing just saves headaches in reloading. I bought a Lee APP for bullet sizing, very fast & cheap.

I don't know that a lot of factory barrels will even chamber a round .001" to .002" greater than groove diameter of the barrel, -without- being throated first.
Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? Does anyone cast boolits for PC that are slightly undersized relative to lube style boolits?

I’m thinking about getting a mold from Accurate, sized to groove diameter, and then letting the PC bring the final result up 0.002” over groove dia.

Yes. When I ordered my molds from Accurate I take into account the PC thickness and spec them accordingly.

Just remember that if it says +/- .002 then whatever the minimum is should still be OK with you.

Depends on what size the mould throws & desired end size.
I will size before & after coating to ensure the correct size. Others will only be before coating & for one (38S&W in a Webley) only after coating.

That's more technically accurate - good catch, but I still want to know the bore size.

Maybe a better question is do you buy bullets for a 38 Special to load in your 9mm? Do you buy.303 bullets to load your 30/06? Why not, because it is the same reasoning or lack thereof.
