300 Win Mag and MP .311-235 AAC

I’ve read much on here and many other forums that gave very little hope in shooting cast in 300 Win Mag.with any success So, being one who colors outside the lines,
I went out on a limb awhile back. Using a Remington 700 Sendero with 1:10 twist.
Worked up a load based off an old Speer manual reduced load for 200 gr. jacketed Bullet.
I chose the MP .311-235 AAC NLG. For my bullet. Using WW alloy, powder coated and gas checked weighing 222 grains.
Starting load was 31 grs IMR 4198 Max 35 grs.
I chased it to Max of 35 grs increasing by 1 grain increments with no pressure signs
Group size kept shrinking with each increase . I stopped at the 35 grs with a 5 shot group inside a nickel at 50 yards. Opening up to 1.29” at 100 yards.
Average Muzzle velocity is 2047 fps.
There was very little spread in the w
Bullet weight and I didn’t cull by weight only visual flaws so I thought the group size was very good.
I had enough confidence in the results that I neck shot a doe opening day.
I’m satisfied that this load combination is definitely a keeper

    That is good.
Your combination would be sort of rare.
Most people around here don't shoot cast in .300Mag, or .30 boolits that heavy either.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
