    Steel for Stevens Rifles

    I was going to use 1018 steel and heat blue them, for the trigger and hammer screws. However, I'm wondering if this is the correct steel to use in this application.

    I would use O1 Drill rod which would probably work better, at least it can be hardened via heating and oil quenching.
