These rifle bases were used on muzzleloaders and they were mounted where the rear sight was originally installed.
In each of those situations, the long eye relief pistol scopes were used. I don't know that I've seen any of these scopes made that were for a shorter eye relief such as a center fire rifle. In later years, T/C did make a rear base that would accept weaver style rings so a conventional rifle scope could be used.
Both pistol scope and rifle scopes were made that fit their bevel edge clamp system.
I'm after one of the rifle scopes that does not have the extended eye relief.
And yes, the clamp style bases in the photo were made to match the mounting screw pattern on some of the muzzleloaders.
This week I am working in New York. Today I stopped at a gun shop called American sportsman in East Rochester New York. On their shelf they have a Thompson center scope with the base that you are looking for
