In regards to shooting safety.Until you are ready to fire, keep your booger hook off the bang switch.

Congrats, My wife's first was with a 94 in 30-30. I have always wanted a 788, they are very nice shooters. Your load sounds pretty close to ours. If your wife is like mine this is just the start. No more sleeping in on cold mornings.

Looks like you made yourself a hunting partner.

Excellent for you, and for her! Those are good memories to share. Makes good times brighter and the hard times bearable. Wish my wife would have kept hunting, we had such fun together for those years she was involved. Grew apart, me trying to keep the bills paid and tied up with interests, she being lured away by high school flirtations from days gone by and ended a good thing we had. Make it great for as long as you two are breathing. Much to be said for having fun together. So glad for your success.

    Kudo's to you.

My wife first was a six point with a bow. Her second was a spike with her 45 LC BH, when we lived in Michigan. Cast bullet of course. Yes, she harvested a handgun deer before me. I rather have her helping me track deer than anyone else.

Hunting together is one of life's Joy's. My wife used to hunt with me for frogs, deer and rabbits. She also fished with me. Yes she baited he own hook. Then kids happened. I lost my best friend December 30, 2020. Enjoy time together.
