    five in one brass?

My sister recently took up reloading....went searching for .45 Colt brass and somehow or other bought some Star-Line five in one brass.....She realized this was not the .45 Colt brass she seeked and fobbed them off on me!

So what can a fellow do with 5 in 1 single use blank brass??

It looks like good stuff aside from the huge primer hole

    Thanx Rag

Is that stuff not even suitable for pop-gun round ball loads?....I know nothing about blank brass

I had thought about converting it to 11.25mm Italian

I have been using it for a while for 44 Gamegetter and black powder 38 WCF (different headstamp to make id easier). I know that starline says single use, but I have reloaded them several times with no observed issues. The brass does feel maybe a bit thinner, but I haven't used starline's properly headstamped brass in 38-40 for comparison.

If you're single, you can load them up with Mag. primers, hot glue or wax, and shoot inside the house.

I'd say, more like one of a very few.

Unless they fall into your lap, or you have some connection or friends in the film industry,
they'd be hard to find unless you specifically sought out a place to order them.

I've been to a lot of gun shows, and looked around at a lot of ranges.
I've never seen one, or even heard someone else talking about them.

Why would they be difficult to find?
I bought 1000 of them a couple of years ago thinking about how handy they would be if brass ever became scarce for those calibers again. I believe that I just ordered them from Starline? Don't recall now.
I would think that anyone with any of the cartridges listed in the description of the product would be interested in owning some. I sort of looked at them like "basic" brass that used to be offered by BELL.

Not difficult to find if you set about looking for them..... which hardly anybody does outside of the film industry.
But rather unusual for most people to run across in everyday life.

I think they are good to trim to cylinder length and use for Shot shells. The drilled flash hole makes them unsuitable for bullets........

Do you have a Marbles Game Getter? If so have you developed loads for it? I'm currently developing loads for my Model 1908. Information on the guns is common. Not so for the loads.

They work great for .44 Game Getter or .44XL shot for the old .44-12mm garden guns. Look up my article in the archives here, on Marlin Owners, https://www.marlinowners.com/threads.../#post-6726458 or read my review on the Midway web site.
    https://www.midwayusa.com/product/10...3#read-reviews

Also useable in .44-40, .45 Colt revolvers or Bond Arms .45- .410

Killing game patterns to 50 feet in choked smooth bore, 30 feet in cylinder bore, 25 feet in slow twist .44 rifle or revolver. 5-8 feet in Bond Arms Snake Slayer.

Keep the loads light, using same charge of pistol powder as for standard-pressure .44-40 or .45 Colt.

I am aware of your Marlin article. The Marbles Game Getter isn't nearly as strong as a Marlin and having spent many years looking for a legal one I'm being very careful. I plan on chronographing a few original shot loads to see what performance I have to match.

Yes I do, but I mostly use a Steven's single shot that is approximately the same action strength because the Gamegetter is lacking an original stock.
I basically use the same load as Outpost with good results.

In original Game Getter do not exceed 5 grains of Bullseye with no more than 218 grains or half ounce shot payload.
