    NEI .446 Diameter 485 Grain

    Lucked into this one.
One of the more interesting .446 designs I've seen.

Was working on the mold last night to bring it back to life. Surprised me that I found deburring that Walt missed.
Need to reset a pin from someone having run the mold really hot and slapping it around. It'll be like brand new.
Looking up data in Cartridges Of The World, looks like it was for a 11.43x55R Turkish, 11.43x50R Egyptian, maybe some other.
Now I'm rethinking whether to get a barrel to suit this one or the Lyman #470216.

With a ~.446" diameter, my first thought was the .44-77. But then I have a .43 Spanish Remington Rolling block.

This mold appears to have been made for the French model 1874 rifles which use a .446" diameter boolit at various weights. Their cartridge was the 11x59R mm Gras and a few rifles are still in circulation. A friend has one and "shamed" me into finding components to make loaded rounds for it. He assembled the rounds using Trapdoor loading data with the same boolit weight and only the starting powder charge of smokeless powder for that boolit's weight. Being that he is in his late 70's and has multiple health issues he is still trying to screw together the courage to test fire the loads.

Could make for a nice long range muzzleloading rifle.
