Woohoo Happy Anniversary To Me(and my better half)

38 years married (41 years together), 2 kids, and a whole lot of miles boogiein down the highway of life, all while avoiding the potholes of gloom and doom. With the same woman! All in all not too bad! Would I change anything? Not really, although looking back on both my sons teenage years it might’ve been easier on both of us if instead of having kids, we just got another puppy! A lot cheaper too! LOL

You are 100% correct! Now on a sidenote I can say a lot of the communication between the two of us consisted of me saying yes dear and I am sorry, but it was still Communication! lol

    That's great. Congrats.

We've only been married for 20 years, and so far-- so good.

Too funny. Yes I've had a few 'yes dears' myself.

All levity a side, my wife is my friend, my partner, the mother of my children, and the only person I could’ve ever imagined spending my life with. She has stood by me in good times and hard times. She’s been at my side through all the numerous surgeries and recuperation. At the times when a lesser woman would probably have said this is enough for me and left. Not my wife Pam she stayed by my side pushed me when she thought I wasn’t living up to my expectations. I wouldn’t trade her for all the money in the world. She is truly the love of my life!

We are going on 54 years in the bonds of matrimony that grow stronger every year because we have Jesus.

After 55 years, I figure this is so, because not only is she my best friend and trusted advisor, she presented me with The Master’s greatest greatest gift second only to everlasting life, four great kids. Two and two. Not sure I was before her, but I’ve darn sure tried to be what she wanted since… ..She is God’s blessing for me…

I am aware that not every one feels happiness or measures joy the same way, but boy I don’t see how it could be better.
Then there’s the cooking, well let me say she is from South Mississippi. Liberty. I met her on a turkey hunt. the hunter’s widow role wasn’t enjoyed but A few things modified made it acceptable.

Good on you friend, my way wasn’t always the best. I have learned. You and others have also learned to appreciate your spouse, to overlook the things that don’t matter or count for anything. You wanted to learn. Honest and true. Well, I digress….

39 years yesterday. Went to a kinda expensive restaurant. Place was busy, say 80% capacity. I was NOT stressing at all, happy really.

But wife had to get up and go get napkins from the bar as they'd served appetizers and never gave us utensils or napkins. This was a $20 and up a plate sorta joint.

We both thought it was a touch humorous, cpl very nicely dressed patrons and get zero service. Had to get up and ask for the check too. No,we didn't complain..... just reinforcement why we choose to eat MUCH BETTER,at home.

Came home to a much nicer fireplace, and watched some old Christmas movies.
