    22 tmc ?

    I have a idea
But I am not sure if or how well it would work
I don't want to convert a Glock to fire the 22 TMC

Will the 22 TMC feed out of a Glock 17 Mag ?
I know it is based on a shortened 5.56
I also read that the 22 TCM with a deep seated bullet will work in a Glock Mag
But I don't 100% trust everything posted on the internet
So I check myself or ask people that have the brass and mags

Don't have any 22 TMC ammo or brass to try it in one of my Glock mags

As I am drawing up a bolt action 9 MM Luger carbine
I am planning on using a barrel nut like a Savage rifle to hold the barrel on
I also plan on using Glock mags in the carbine

So I had the idea to have a extra barrel in 22 TMC if it really would work
That way I could work up some plinking and short rang hunting loads
That is if I can get the extractor to grab the smaller case

    Thanks
    John

They claim about all you need is a barrel swap. They can be found on e-bay from time to time. I never got one because another cartridge to ''play with'' is just what I don't need, but from videos I've watched, it looks like a fun cartridge. RIA makes the kits and they're fairly reasonable as to cost, they may also be the sole source of ammo and cases too though, I'm not sure.

fyi: the 22tcm comes in 2 versions. the standard cartridge is made to feed from a 38super magazine and the other feeds from a 9mm magazine...it uses a shorter rounder projectile than the standard bullet.

    love my 22tcm 1911....

Thanks, I was wondering what the .22 TCM9R was, that's the one used for the Glock 17.

Actually, the original will feed 9mm and 22tcm from same magazine, but they are really 38 super magazines, at least the mecgar magazines I use in the 1911. The glock conversion uses the slightly shorter bullet 22tcm 9R. it is round nose rather than tapered. Both will shoot out of a 1911.
The top cartridge is the 9R. 1.125 OAL.
the second down is the original 22tcm 1.250 OAL.
third down is my altered Bador mold. 1.230 OAL.
And bottom is a 37 grain NOE 1.250 same oal as original.
The longest 9mm I've seen listed is 1.169 Not sure what would be max out of a glock magazine. Obviously shorter than 1.250.... My guess putting these in a 9mm g17 mag is that probably 1.125 is about as long as you can go. The cast can most probably be pushed in that much....

If you need a few to try of the cast, let me know. I PC them and no leading at 2000fps

I have .22TCM and 9mm barrels for a 1911, which uses a .38 super mag. Doesn’t help you for Glock but just another datapoint.

    Thanks !!

Now I know it will feed

But knowing that will cause me more work
As now when I start making parts
I will have to turn a extra barrel down LOL
