Divorce gun

I was told it was a requirement to buy a divorce gun. Since I couldn't afford a divorce party, I bought a fine 1860 Uberti from a nice gentleman here.

I think it did quite well. Felt great in the hand. I need to find what load she likes, but I think even in those days it might have done me fine.

Glad ya got what you wanted.
It reminds me of a buddy whose neighbor told a story of a deal like that and it didn't turn out as well.

The husband asked the wife, "What do you want for Christmas"?

Marriage is grand, divorce is ten grand.
Why is divorce so expensive? Because it's worth it.
She is now mooching off her brother in Oregon, and I send money every payday, not because I have to, (no alimony and I kept everything, literally everything), but because her brother can't afford her meds until her SSI kicks in. I am no happier than I have been in decades.
Did I mention it went so smooth I got a refund? That's right - I GOT A REFUND FROM A DIVORCE ATTORNEY...top THAT!
But now to clean this thing - I don't want to get pitting.

I had a good divorce too back in the mid-90s.

I kept the house I built, all my toys, and the credit card debt.
The only thing I lost was custody of my two school age kids.

The govt. here had a battered women free legal service program staffed with brand new young lawyers who really,
really didn't want to go to trial. It soon expanded to any free legal service for women. The ex jumped right onto that.

She'd bring in potential decrees, I'd look at 'em, and say, "This part and that part ain't going to fly".
She bow up and say, "You'll have to hire a lawyer if we go to court".

I told her it was do-able, and all my legal fees would get paid out of the kid's Christmas present fund.
even if it took a couple or three years to make it up. (the kids didn't get shorted on Christmas)

A couple years later, after I got the debt paid off, I got what I guess could be considered my divorce gun.
I got one of the first single shots Mark Serbu made in .50BMG and a RCBS reloading set up for it.

I would have been happy to, if I hadn't been reduced to a servant in my own home, with no nookie for 11 years. My son was 21 at the time of the divorce, so no minor children to worry about.

I have 2, 1860's....it's hard to go wrong with one or the 1861 Navy.

My "divorce gun" was the one I had to sell tp pay for it. Divorce cost me $200.00. I had a friend who was an attorney and there was no arguments over property. Heck, back then there WASN'T any property to argue over!! That was 45+ years ago. My wife and I have 43 years clocked and praying for 50.

Congrats! Divorce gun as in only one? Got more than that after my divorce. She and her friends had a plan where she thought she was going to be able to get a lot more out of me. Problem was I got hurt at work and messed up her plans. She even asked me why I wouldn't work two more years after the fall (she refused to work after kids got into high school) which was our major issue. She got a portion of my disability pension. With the remaining portion and my SS Disability I do ok. My girlfriend lives with me and everything is great. No more marriage for me and no one to even question what I buy or do.

That’s a beauty of a gun.

I didn’t get a divorce gun. But after my divorce I got my Boating licence, motorcycle licence and firearms licence. So technically my entire collection is my divorce gun!

I didn't get a divorce gun but I gave up a couple of nice ones!

I sold one to pay for the divorce.
But that was because she had run us into bankruptcy using the credit cards.
I was able to buy the rifle back within 6 months of the divorce because I now had cash since she wasn't around any more.

Forgot to add the gun purchases were all before the tragic boating accident where I lost everything including all my supplies and reloading equipment. Just sayin.
