Firearm - ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol)
    Ammunition - 45 Auto

If someone owns a Glock 1911, they may not want to use Colt's "ACP" terminology.

How did .460 S&W Magnum get overlooked?

I voted 45-70 because I love that caliber.
But, I got a killer NOE mold for 45 ACP and I have a lot of large pistol primers... So, I recently bought a 1911. It is a sig 1911 - I LOVE this gun. I am shooting it pretty much exclusively. In about 2 months, I've run about 1500 rounds through it. So, 45 ACP might be my new favorite...

My intuition from the given list will always have me picking a rifle cartridge over a handgun cartridge as that’s what a hand gun is for to fight your way to your rifle.45-70 does more than any of the others with aplomb.

Surprised the Sharps owners haven’t mentioned the 45-2 7/8 aka 45-110.

Great info! Maybe sometime breaking up for rifle and handgun.
Enjoy the 45 colt in my judge, Hard time picking up Brass off the ground now. I just love being rolled.
SEMPER FI remember you only have the "RIGHTS" you are willing to fight for & except for ending slavery, fascism, nazism, and communism, WAR has never solved anything!

That is kind of what I am up to......then there is the "pistol caliber" vs "pistol cartridge" and as we all know, the "45 caliber" is not just for pistols. Been trying to get folks to dump that term for years.

As of right now, .45 Colt is in the lead (pun noted but not intended) with 45 votes! That seemed worthy of comment.

45 Auto is a cartridge. 45 ACP is another one of John Brownings fabulous inventions. The 45 Automatic Colt Pistol. But in our world today 45 Auto, 45 ACP... same thing.

Kinda hard to beat the 45 Colt and the 45-70, they just plain work! I'm a practical kind of guy.

You haven't lived until you set off a SAA with 250gr of lead ahead of a charge of 38gr FFG. It will immediately give you respect for the cowboys of the 19th century and make you understand why ivory grips were commonly used.

    That is a HAND FULL!
