    Exxcel Bullet lube.

A grab bag impulse buy at a gunshow had 4 sticks (solid) of bullet lube marked only with "Exxcel". It is soft, I don't think it will need heat. It is a honey beige color and it is has a faint beeswax smell.

Not a need to know thing, mostly curious. I find once I have a good combo, just about any lube will work for shooting Cowboy loads.

It will be melt and pour, but I plan on loading up a RCBS Lubeamatic with it as a dedicated sizer for 200 gr. 44-40 bullets.

    Thanks

appendum: It may be a Canadian product.

I wonder if it's the old NRA formula?
    1/3 beeswax
    1/3 Paraffin wax
    1/3 Vaseline

I use beeswax to thicken olive oil that has been infused with goldenrod flower pollen for arthritis, 1 part BW to 2 parts Olive oil, and it comes with more of a yellow color that Exxcel. But based on the sniff test, I suspect that the other ingredients are near odorless.

Is it too soft to consider it might be 50-50 beeswax and ALOX (the current so-called “NRA formula?) All sticks of that I’ve ever seen had a beige to tan color...

You bet, especially at the $1.25 a stick I paid for it.
