    27 Cal Blank Brass

I went over to a construction site that my former Boss had a crew at
I needed to borrow a rotary hammer drill & bit and they had one they were not using
He told me to head over to the job site and get it and just drop it off at the shop when I was done
As I want to drill a hole through concrete for a 4" PVC pipe

While I was there I saw one of the crews there had used a bunch of the 27 cal blanks to drive nails into the concrete to hold steel track in place
I ask what they were going to do with all the strips of spent blanks strips ?
I was told one of them was just sweeping them up to throw away

So I had him sweep them into a pile and I scooped up just over 4 - 5 galloon buckets of the strips
Oh there was also some trash mixed in
I was told there would probably be more Thursday or Friday and they would save them for me

I may just take the brass and scrap it
Unless I could use the blank brass to swage bullets

Anyone use the 27 cal blank brass ( red power ) to form bullets ?

    Thanks
    John

I picked up a couple of strips but have not had time to play with them.

Might work for 25 acp if you are willing to put in the time. Also, have thought about how to de-rim them?

    And there is a problem
I will have to make all the parts needed to de-rim the brass

So right now I have the brass off of the plastic strips
So I have almost a full 5 gallon bucket of the brass
But the number of types of bullets I use that could be made from the brass is a problem

But I did get just over 60 unfired blanks
So I put them back onto the strips

I bet my former Boss will be interested in them as trade for something I need

    Thanks
    John

Gave the idea some deliberation in the past; but have never taken action on it.

Isn't the 27 nail gun blank the foundation for for the 17 WSM rimfire round?

Yes, it is. I confirmed that with the Winchester reps at the last SHOT Show.

    Hope this helps.
