    H&R stock swap

    Good afternoon,
I have a H@R 45-70 single action rifle with the handi-grip thumbhole stock. I would like to swap it out for a wood or laminate wood stock. Will the HR/NEF single shot shotgun stocks fit . I see them for sale on the online bidding sites, or I could buy a Boyds. Click image for larger version.

Yes, should fit. You will need the longer bolt and washer for the traditional style stock.

How does it kick with that thing you have on it?

Full power or subsonic are both like shooting a 20 gauge birdshot load. The suppressor is a Lane Scorpion 458 titanium, takes about 40% of the recoil away

The H&R that I built a new buttstock for used a 3/8-24 thread for the stock bolt. My drilling wasn't quite centered, so I used a piece of all thread and a lock nut to give a bit more strength through the wrist.

I hope to get wood stock , I don’t really like plastic on a rifle.

Look for a Pardner single shot shotgun to swap stocks with. The barrel channel might need work but maybe not. Then cut the shotgun barrel to 18.5 inches and have a tacticool shotgun!

Do the sb1 and sb2 receivers use the same stock bolt? I may have found a replacement but it doesn’t have a bolt.
    Thanks
