I have used it on several firearms with no bad results.

MrStyx, Once you've got the problem nipple out, consider replacing all 6 with a set of Slix Shot nipples: https://www.badmanbullets.com/Online...Powder-Nipples Your ROA will then be 100% reliable (Don't ask....!).

I load mine with as much 2F black powder I can get into the chamber and still seat the projectile!

I bought a stainless ROA from my local gun shop yesterday as well. Had to fill out the "state" required form but did not have to do the full background check BS. Supposedly, in the eyes of the state of Washington, a Ruger ROA is considered a handgun. Anyway, the gun is un-fired in the red box with manual, no wrench. The gun however, is missing all 6 nipples. Evidently someone needed some nipples real bad.

No one’s mentioned it yet, but Track of the Wolf sometimes carries Lee, 6 cavity moulds in 0.454”. Makes it easier to feed your ROA

How much powder do yall throw into your roa? I'd like to not need cornmeal.
I use 30-35 grains of 3f most of the time. And, some dealers are so afraid of the ATF that they invent rules to follow which the ATF has never written. The old army is a replica and every other replica c&b is as easily converted yet atf isn’t concerned about them…

Went out shooting last weekend. Some osage oranges met their untimely splattering end. Good times. Didn't do any hardcore accuracy testing.

Really a shame that Ruger quit producing these.

The Ruger takes .457, not .454 balls like most of the current repros. I was lucky enough to find one of the Lee molds in that size to feed my Old Army. I'm also going to try Beagling my Lee conical mold that makes boolits for the other repros I have. GF

I really want one of these but prices are crazy high on gunbroker right now. If the Pedersoli Remington clone came with target sights it might do, but I still want the Ruger in stainless with an adjustable rear sight.

A stainless ROA 8 inch is my grail gun right now. Jelly, very jelly.
