    Winchester evolution references

Howdy! My oldest son is doing a school project on Winchester lever gun evolution. It's not a super deep dive, but it's deeper than my references. Something that will cover from the 1866 through the 1895 with the nuances of changes both between models and within models as far as changes within the models as they occurred.
I am looking for a reference recommendation that would help him in this endeavour.
Thank you all for your help!

(Mods please move this if I have posted it in the incorrect place - thank you)

    .

For a deeper dive, I would suggest googling each model to discover all the various design changes in each model over it's production run.

My take on it is everything from the 1866 to the 1876 are derived from the Henry with the addition of the King's patent side loading gate. The Henry itself evolved from the Volcanic of Smith & Wesson.

Everything after the 1886 is from the fertile mind of John Moses Browning.

Forgotten Weapons has several video's on youtube, and they are probably on his website also.
