    41 cal gas check molds.

Does anyone know of 41 caliber gas check molds for a 41 Remington Magnum that are available? Looking for a Keith type 220 grain.
I keep trying to stay afloat but can't help from shooting holes in my own boat.

I think most of the no longer in production Lyman's were designed to drop at about 210, probably to match factory weights.

Elmer Keith did not like gas checks for whatever reason. While you may find a SWC with a gas check, it is not a Keith design.

My own antipathy towards gas checks for revolver projectiles stems solely from the added expense.

Slim Picken's at NOE ... nothing with a Gas check available .
    When I wanted a 9mm mould with a gas check NOE #358 - 124 - TC GC I initiated a Production Run ...
in no time 5 others signed on and it went into production .
With the lack of 41 moulds ... I recently bought 3 NOE 41 magnum moulds ,my avatar is a model 58 S&W 41 magnum ...
... if I had a 41 magnum rifle ...or shot more hot 41 magnum loads , a gas check would be useful ... I'm not objectionable to gas checks at all ...use them a lot with soft alloy and hot loads and rifle shooting .

You may want to consider starting a Production Run at NOE ...it wont take long .

Sorry, but Lyman dropped all .41cal molds a couple of years ago.

Place a WTB add here in S&S and watch the auction sites. I picked up a nice used Lyman 410610 a year or so ago. They are out there just be patient. Once in awhile a custom GC mold comes along as well but they tend to get spendy quick. That’s the only availability I know of currently.

I have a Mehi 413640 that is a GC but not a keith. It throws 200 to 220 depending on the Pin you use and uses a .416 check not the lyman .41.

You might check out this thread and find what you are looking for, there are a bunch listed.

When Lyman told me they were dropping ALL 41 moulds ... I got worried about availability of any / all others . Lee had one , non-tumble lube , design @ 195 gr. ...nabbed one quick . E-Bay prices were getting stupid crazy high but I bought a few discontinued 1-cavity Lyman at reasonable price and then discovered NOE ... 41 Magnum Mould Heaven ... I finished out my needs with Al's moulds ... the sweetest are a Elmer Keith " Signature" mould and a 41 wadcutter based on lymans #358432 but enlarged to 412432 ... and this one is a accuracy champ in my S&W model 58 .
My advice is , if you want 41 magnum moulds go NOE and place an order.

I have three 41 GC molds:

    Lyman 410610 (210gr GC)
    Arsenal 41-220-RF GC
    Ranchdog TLC411-255 RF GC

You can buy a plain base mould, and use a plain base check on it. Every once in a while I see the Lyman 410459, "and others" up for bid on flea-bay.
    If a 41 won't stop it, I wouldn't bet my life on a 44.

Just in case you're interested, I just saw a Lyman 410459 4 cavity w/handles on ebay. I run two double cavity moulds with this style. Great boolts. I sometimes use aluminum plain base checks on them.
