165 Grain DEWC for .45 ACP Revolver

Looking for Load Data for the 'Matts Bullets" 165 Grain DEWC, .452, ( I do not know the old Ideal or Lyman Mold Number ) for use in a usual 5-1/2 inch Barrel S & W m1917.

    Viz - https://www.mattsbullets.com/index.p...74os15vgqutgu3

Seems like this Bullet could be fairly snappy while remaining within safe pressure limits.

Anyone have any experience with this one?

No, just for fun in general.

There are no organized Shooting events or clubs or outdoor Ranges or anything where I live...no events, no anything.

One just finds a safe disused Rail Road embankment for back-drop, and is on their own..!

Use 200 gr SWC data , 5.5-6.0 gr Unique is a starting place .

Occupied case space more than weight gets applied for this load .

I've settled on 5.5 Unique for all of my bullets in 45 ACP & AR for 2 S&W and a Colts 1917 . I seat a 452-255 in the top lube groove and just under the crimp groove for a NOE version of the 454424 . Its perfect with the RCBS 45-200 , 452-200 RF , and H&G #130 .

    Thanks Harter66!

    Sounds good!

I have "Unique", so...I'll go from there.

Given this little Bullet has a Crimp Groove, I'll see if I can compare heavier Bullets seating depth, in terms of how far in the Cartridge Case, the base of the Bullet ends up, to compare Loading densities.

Just seems like such a fun Bullet to try, I could not resist!
