cost of ruger #1 in 7x57

I was looking at the cost of a Ruger #1 in 7x57...shocked at the sticker price at gunbroker.
Is gun broker accurate in terms of cost?

It will give you a pretty good indication of what people are willing to pay. In today's world, the prices on everything gun & ammo related is inflated beyond belief.

I bought one for $1100 last year. Ruger #1's are rarely abused or worn out. They are my favorite rifle. I've got 18 of em. Only 4 are really accurate but the rest are minute of deer, 1 1/2 to 2 at a hundred. Still working on cast in the 7x57. The 35 Whelen and 45-70 are less an inch with cast pc'd. The only one that I haven't been able to find a good load for is the 450 Marlin. I'm sure one's out there but don't have the time to find it.
When it was rumored that production was ending, I bought 3 new ones out the door for less than $1000 each. That's been a couple years.
Look at what they've sold for on gunbroker and you'll see there are a few bargains.

I have one in 7x57. Was a pig until I installed a Hicks Accurizer. It will now shoot 3 in a 7/8” group at 100 yds using a warm load of RE 22 and hornady 175 round nose. Neck of chamber is off on mine. Loose to the point where I have a hard time sizing necks back down to spec. Not quite sure what to do about that. They blow way out in diameter.

ID:	290476 my ruger #3 and ruger #1 in 45-70 both shoot my favorite load with H-4198 and sierra 300 gr bullets into one inch or better at 100 yards, right out of the boxs with no extra work done on them.

I was looking because I am thinking about selling my #1. It is a good shooter with both cast and J's. Seems to favor the 120 to 140 gr J's. I have never taken it out in the field, didn't want to see it get beaten up so usually I use the .257 Roberts for field work.

Only how much somebody's been willing to pay for one recently is the true cost, so surf for "sold" specimens.

Unsold items, "opening bids", "buy-it-now" (BIN), and "reserve dollar amounts are what a seller would hope to get - the actual transaction cost may be greater or less.

    I got lucky and snagged this 1-S in 338 WM for $500.00 8 months ago. It joins a 458 WM, 25/06, 7X57 and a #3 in 375 Winchester.Click image for larger version.

I have a #1 in 450/400 NE and for 3 shots it will stay well under 2 inches with full house, jacketed loads at 100 yds....which is all I want to sit behind it. With significantly reduced cast loads with Lyman's 400 gr., .410 bullet it will just about shoot one hole at 50 yards. I always liked the #1 and have had several. Some were shooters, some weren't and I never pursued any remedies for those that weren't.

I took my #1 7x57 out to the range yesterday. Haven't shot it for a couple of months. At 100 yds
    my last (3) 140 gr J's....MOA
    (5) 120 gr J's...Moa
I would post photos but I keep getting a message that my photos exceed my "quota", even though they have been reduced to the smallest size possible.
