    Cleaning out a breach plug?

    Hi everybody,
I've got an old CVA Hunter bolt magnum 50 calthat I've been hunting with for the past couple of years. The thing shoots great, it'll put 3 shots into 1.5" at 75yds.
I cleaned and oiled it after last year and this year I pulled it out and the breach plug was corroded shut from end to end.
I tried BP citrus solvent and a nipple cleaning wire and couldn't get anywhere.
I had a new breach plug and put it in, so I'm good for this year.
Is there anyway to clean the flash hole out?
The smallest drill bit I have is just barely too big to fit the hole.
Also, should I oil the hole in the breach plug, then just blast it out with some brake cleaner next year?
Oh, and I'm using 777 pellets with a 209 primer.

I use a paperclip. After i soak it in hot soapy water. I clean it after every time i shoot it.

By another and trash the crusty one , when you have that much time invested in hunting a breach plug is cheap compared to your time (OR) a LB of powder !/Ed

And if you want better accuracy use loose powder and Black powder if possible (OE 2F) is what works for me/Ed

    .

Pull that new breech plug out & dab a little anti-sieze compound ( auto parts or hardware store) on the threads before re-installing it- so there'll be NP the next time you remove it.

Never seize, and I have a set of acetylene torch orifice cleaners that might work in this case.

Get a set of these to clean out the hole(s) in your breech plug.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll get the torch cleaning set and give it a go. I already have breach plug grease on it. Sorry for not responding earlier, I've been out hunting and it just slipped my mind.
I did get a nice doe 2 days ago. We can get 5 in this zone, southern Arkansas. Not sure if I can post a pic from my phone or not.

She only went about 20yds. The bullet went all the way through, but there was no blood trail and very little external bleeding.
