    ML Buck

I took this buck last Saturday morning during Georgia's ML opener. I had just sighted in a Leupold VX-3HD 2.5-8x, but iron sights would have done fine as it had walked straight to my tree and I shot it at about 12 yards. It's not a monster, but I was happy to put some venison in the freezer. We processed it at home making 2 kinds of brats, Italian sausage, bacon burger, and packaged up the backstraps, tenderloins, and a couple roasts.

I shot it with my T/C Encore with .50 cal barrel. 100 grains of Blackhorn 209 pushing a Lee 452-300 in a sabot.

Nice kill! It’s always nice to get something on opening day.

    Good morning and Congratulations !
Looks like a fine eating buck to my eyes !
12 yards must have been a tough shot through a scope! "Which hair clump am I looking at ?"
Should have been able to recover the slug digging down about 2 feet.....

Congratulations! I guess the muzzle flash probably blinded him so he couldn't run to far.

Congrats on the buck, should be tasty.
Muzzleloader opening day for Arkansas was yesterday, I saw two button bucks and a coyote that had a bobbed tail, maybe 4", he looked like he'd had a bad day so I let him go.
How good does the Encore shoot? I've read that there great, but have never shot one myself.
