    Yugo 48 Mauser

I picked up a barreled action from a friend minus the trigger guard.
I have one that looks like it will fit but I need screws to make sure.

I have read that it is a Kurtz action but can’t find anything else about it!
    Anybody familiar with these actions?
How hard is it to find an after market stock?

It’s considered the intermediate action. Nice guns! I’ve had both a 24/47, M48 and a Yugo 98k. All were shooters for sure.

All military as issued. Back in the early 00’s it was the golden era of surplus rifles from the former Yugoslavia. 24/47’s were $149 from Big 5. I remember buying Mosin M44’s and M38’s for $49.

Yeah, around that time I picked up an early M48 (all milled parts) that appeared to be unissued...cosmoline in the bore and under the wood, perfect bluing with no wear marks anywhere, varnished stock witout a scratch or ding...for $150 OTD from a local pawnshop.

There were several versions of the M48 Mausers. M48 was the marked milled version, M48A was the one with the stamped trigger guard and the M48 BO was the unmarked action, presumably for export.
