    WTB - Ideal # 386 176 or like-same Cavity Mold for .41 Colt Short

This being the 'Heeled' Bullet, and the old Ideal Mold Number of 386 refers ( counter-intuitively ) to the Heel diameter...while major Diameter is about .406 or so...163 Grain Bullet.

Any make Mold for Casting this Boolit would do!

    Looks like this -

Also looking for Brass or old Cartridges for the .41 Colt Short, usually Head Stamped as "41 S D A".

If I can not find an original one, I'll get that one.

I actually did go and try and order one some while back, ( I think the one the used to have was round nose ) but they did not have it in stock at the time.

I have the 1890s IDEAL Mold for casting it, but the ( shorter Cylinder ) Remington Pocket Revolver I also want to load for needs the ".38 Short Colt" ( Originally just .38 Colt or .38 Center Fire, as such, the progenitor, the father of .38 Long Colt dating to before they had a short and long distinction, but it kept on being made in to the 1920s anyway! )...which takes the 165 Grain Boolit.

    Good morning Oyeboten.
It's not unusual for Tom at Accurate to be open to new designs and modifications to existing ones.
If you need to drop 35 grains try communicating with him.

Say, maybe later I can get the 165 grainer with the diameters tweaked a little larger and use it in the .41 caliber 1858!

What is that? Or I mean, I have no idea what a .41 Caliber 1858 is.

Remington Navy re-bored to .41? Or..?

I have that mold, if all else fails maybe we can works something out like you casting yourself a lifetime of 41 short bullets but I don’t want to sell the mold. Let me know.

    Sure!

If I can cast even 50, I am sure that'd do me just fine from here on till the Cows come Home!

    I'll message you.

I just read this. I can send you fifty. Let’s work out the details. I wouldn’t settle on 50, if you find yourself liking that little Remington, you may find others wanting to shoot it as well, especially with black powder.
