    Trail Boss in .308 Winchester

Anybody have any accurate cast boolit loads with Trail Boss powder in the. 308 Winchester that they would like to share? Boolits in the nominal 165 to 180g range.

I tried 12g of Trail Boss behind a NOE 311 165 at a CBA match on Saturday and the results were dismal.
I would shoot a couple of nines or even a ten and then a shot out in the 3 ring! My total score was only 147 (out of 200) and I normally shoot between 165 and 180 with this rifle which is a Savage mdl 11.

i would only use trail boss for subsonic loads in 308, they would be in the 9.0-9.5 range, i think. Anything above that I would use a different powder as trailboss is a fast, but bulky powder. With cast, a slower powder would like improve groups in the supersonic range. Trailboss peaks out in pressure fairly quick.

I don't have the charge handy at the moment, but I have used Trail Boss for 200-220 grain sub-sonic rounds. They have the trajectory of a Red Ryder bb gun, but are accurate. With the bullet weights you've listed, the round should shoot a tad flatter. It's definitely worth a try.
