Dad brought out his barbecue pistols...

Went over to my folks house last night and was talking to my dad about how I saw his best friend's Browning Hi-Power last week and was impressed by the fit and finish.

He then proceeded to inform me that he had a BHP that was a bit nicer than his buddies. He went to one of his safes and proceeded to pull out the nicest BHP I had seen in decades...

So, while I was drooling over the BHP, he continued rummaging around the safe, cursing lightly as he move files and less important firearms out of the way. He brought forth a wooden box proudly...

He opened it up and explained that he received the pistol as a door prize when he was doing some follow-up training with the FBI back in the 80's. He attended some seminar at the National Academy, and he ended up winning the Beretta. It is unfired and in like new condition. No idea what it is worth, but my dad is extremely proud of it.

Just thought I'd share some unique firearms as I am very proud of my dad, and he is facing some health challenges due to the Covid vaccine and it's effect on his heart valves.

    Awesome!
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
    praise glorious!

Very nice. My first ever pistol I bought new back around '84 or so was my Beretta 92F made in Italy. I still have her. Your Father's FBI one would make a nice keepsake.

Your Dad has good taste in firearms. I’m curious though, are the sights on that BHP factory order or did your father have it added. It looks almost like the old MMC from Deming, NM. Regardless, that is a gaw-juss High Power. All the extra bling on the Beretta make it just right for a special occasion with knowledgeable LEO fellow gun cranks. Thanks for sharing.

Just a guess, but they're probably factory.
Back in the day, they came both ways- adjustable, and the small notched/fixed kind.
I had a HP from the 70's, and those sights look just like the ones mine had.
