    WTB: Need some 32 S & W (short) brass

I recently purchased a Howell conversion cylinder in 32 S & W (short) for use in a Uberti 1849 Pocket/Wells Fargo pistol from a member here. I need some 32 S & W (short) brass to load for it - plan on loading both some BP and smokeless loads.

I would like to purchase a quantity of 100 to 200 32 S & W (short) casings but will consider any quantity - new or fired casings fine - head stamp not important as long as it can be reloaded.

If anyone has some 32 S & W (short) brass lying around that they don't need, please drop me a PM with what you have and what you would like for it. If dirty, not an issue as I can tumble it and clean it up. Even a small quantity would be welcome so I can load some and try this conversion cylinder out.

    Many thanks!

    Jim

I have some old ballon cases. Maybe 50. Are you interested?

PM sent on the balloon casings in 32 S & W (short)

JohnH - sent you a PM - what I need are the 32 S & W "short" casings - 32 S & W Long require too much trimming down to make the 32 "short" casing. Thank you for your kind response - greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure Starline sells 32 S&W brass, but it may all be Long. I need to load 32 Long & Short Colt, which can be swaged from 32 S&W brass. Will need to shorten some, and turn the base of all of it, IIRC. Don't see shortening brass as all that difficult, though I do have several small lathes. A drill press could be used, too or instead.

I bought 1000 new 32 S&W-Long cases from Starline for my CF cartridges. If you want to go through the trouble, you could shorten the "longs" to make your "shorts? (like shortening .357 magnum to .38 special).

    Bedbugbilly,
I can supply you with WW 32 SW Short brass. I have a tub of it.
It just needs the case mouth expanded before sizing and reloading since the brass was blanks.
Easy to do with a tapered expanding plug
    50 rounds, 100 rounds, a couple hundred.
What amount would you like How about $5/hundred plus shipping?

If he doesn't buy them all, I'd be interested in up to 400 of them.

beltfed - I would like some - sent you a PM

mister gizmo and Bill - Starline shows their 32 S & W short brass as backordered so no real info on when it will be available. I I want to avoid having to trim down 38 S & W Long if at all possible - I know it can be done but with my older hands - would much prefer to not have to do it. Thank you though, appreciate the input!

I'm 66, and have had arthritis in my hands since I was 17. Knees since I was 19. Spine since I was 30. I know what you mean, but use 'em while you still got 'em! Though there is a reason (or six) that I've got more than one lathe. And drill presses.

Machine tools were invented by guys with hammers, chisels, hacksaws, and files. For reasons that seemed good to them. Though if you can buy what you need, there is nothing at all wrong with that.

If he doesn't get them all, I think I could find enough spare change around here to get more than 400, and if he does, I'll probably survived. I owe my brother some .32 Colt short CF cartridges, and think I can make them work. Won't kill me if I don't get them, either.

    Thanks!

starline does sell 32S&W short, and with 1.1gr of HP-38 behind a 73-75gr boolit it shoots great.

Yeeeeessssss . . . Starline does make and sell 32 S & W Short . . .BUT . . . like so many other cartridge casings that they handle . . . . it has been on "Backorder" for a long time and when it will be available is anyone's guess.
