    Forster universal sight fixture

does anyone use one of these anymore or is it just a relic of past?
I have a fine example of one of these with a bunch of extras like bushings, drills, taps, shims. I put it up on swapping and selling a while back and there was no interest whatsoever.
does it belong in an antique shop or what?

I'd be interested, but I just got back from a $278 vet bill, so I'm a little tapped out here.

I've got one and used it many times, but would make the observation that if all you want to drill and tap is the receiver there are other fixtures that are much less expensive and work just as well. The Forster also allows for drilling and tapping barrels for iron sights mounted on the barrel, middle and front.

I made this one to hold the barreled action to align the sights when silver soldering to the barrel. Works great for drilling and tapping when I set up and align the fixture in the vertical mill.

I have had one for decades. I got mine after a fellow did a drill and tap on my rifle that was out of line by half a hole. Put the Forrester in a Bridgeport and it makes straight holes in a straight line and the same depth. Because of the guides and carbide drills it will redrill buggered up or oversized holes where needed. it comes in handy to fix some of Bubba’s work.
