    Quinetics bullet puller

I picked up a Quinetics Corp bullet puller in a box of garage sale stuff. Looks like the original kinetic puller design that everyone copied
Anyone know what the small threaded insert between the main head and chuck/collet might be for?

    Thanks!

That "threaded insert" is a drop tube for an RCBS powder measure.

    ^^^exactly.

Probably someone who wasn't familiar with reloading components assumed the matching green plastic meant they belonged together.

I was going to say that small item did not came with the puller because I bought my new many years ago and did not came with one. I still use my . the problem it did not came with a small collet to do 32 cals with so I bought a RCBS one to do it. I use both now. the one stay as is and the RCBS stay as is since the set up is what I use mainly on both.

Quoting the first response but not dismissing the rest of them …. DOH!!!! Really really had me going on this part! I never would have suspected - after all “it’s green! And threads right into the matching threads in the body of the hammer!”

After looking closer, there are not really threads on the inside of the hammer part - just a lip than happens to engage the threads of the RCBS part.

I had the same thought as one poster above that it might be for dumping the powder separate from the bullet, but made no sense to unscrew the cap, drop the chuck, screw in the insert and dump … it’s really curious that there are internal threads in the hammer section that mate to this perfectly.

    You guys rock!
