This looks like fun, but I don't have the time. It is too close to deer season. My outdoor time will be soent on wood and other pre-winter stuff. that said, I am not sure wht were doing, but I would shoot either a 94 in 38-55 or 25-35 (too small?) or 303 Savage in a 99 or 32-40 in a 99. Maybe a 35 Rem. I'll be watching this.

Break it up into cartridge types, IE. straightwall vs bottle neck
Definetly count the fouling shot, you have to if hunting.

I am making up a score card on google docs. I am going to make it to where each shooter can access his own card and keep it current. If I can get some help by as many shooters as possible to keep up with his own information....we can extend this to as many categories as we want and make it fun for everyone.
The main thing I want to keep as the objective is

    1. First shot always counts
    2. All needs to directly relate to hunting.
Bench rests are allowed since we are kind of trying to document some important data

I’m not able to print or do computer stuff. I could however do something like, draw a target on a sheet of paper, shoot it, and mail it in. The target could be a standard piece of paper, with an X from corner to corner, so a target dot could be put in the center. Group could be measured for size and ties determined by the group center closest to the center of the paper.

The other shoots I’ve seen online has something like, two targets for score, with the best being chosen and sent in. Of course that’d have to include a cold bore first shot for each to simulate hunting.

My rifle will be a Winchester 94 in 30-30, iron sights, shooting cast 31141.

I'm excited.....although I fully expect to perform miserably! Got my first 20 rds. loaded tonight and brass prepped for an additional 20. Didn't have enough on hand of my powder of choice, but found reliable data for one that I do have enough to do meaningful testing, so that is what it is. A bit faster powder than I'd like, but should be workable at slightly lower velocities, which plays into this game well anyway.
We're supposed to 'lob' them, right? And ordered the peep I expect to shoot with. For those not following...it's a brand new to me Model 71 so I have absolutely no baseline to start from. This 'competition' will be my baseline....great fun!

The 308 has such a flat trajectory, it is really far superior to the others...especially with a scope

These are probably my favorite. Shots 1 thru 10 at 100 yards 8-17-2019-2, and Shots 11 thru 40 at 100 yards 8-17-2019-3

Seems to me there ought to be a .357MAG allowed into the mix. Thoughts? I'll go with it and my 30-30/

    Take Care

Its been months since I bought the book, "How to scam people online". It still has not arrived yet!

    Heck yeah!!!!!

I need better pictures so I can score it with Ballistic X. I need a squared off photo WITH a one inch reference mark.
    I need a date too

Like this (each small block is 1"). Just measure one inch and mark with a pen/pencil

I'll get that added since I made separate categories for most anyway. I see it on Winchester's ammo options for hunting with a soft point.

357 Magnum has been added. Still working on some range trajectories. This is only based on Winchester Super-X Hunting JSP loads with heaviest bullet.

I've got a Browning 1895 in .30-06 with the replica side mount aperture sight. I load a Lee 220 RN GC to about 1900 fps, perhaps I'll shoot it with these ideas in mind just to see how it will do. Unfortunately, 150 yards is the longest I have available. Still, this should be a fun exercise. GF

I can add it so we can keep up with it. I have split some things up into different categories and sub cats so we can get as many folks as we can that want to just shoot against themselves!!!
