    .461 Sizer?

I've been casting for the .45-70 lately and prefer not to size, but I would like to use my Lyman 450 to crimp the gas checks and lube. I do have a .459" die but would like a larger one. Does anyone make a .461" H&I die? Right now I am only using my present setup to crimp the gas checks and then tumble lubing with Lee Alox.

I have a Lyman .459"; using a dowel & sandpaper I opened it up to .460". Suggest you do the same and see if .460". If not open it up to .461". Just be careful, as bullets sized and loaded at .461" may be too big to chamber.

Buffalo arms currently has .460 in stock, but you’d have to check their stock regularly for .461.

S&S firearms out of New York makes customs for $42 plus ship. I had them make a .293 that turner out well.

I'd stay away from the s&s made ones. I got a .460 and a. 461 from them and neither of them are concentric.

One thing i have found is you need a new center push pin if you open them up or the lube will come out between the center punch and die if the gap is to big.i have use gage pins but it take a carbide cutter to finsh the gage pin.So do not forget the new pin.
