WTB or trade for 45ACP cast bullets

I'd like 25 or 50 bullets to try before I invest in even more molds. Specifically, the Lee designs TL452-230-2R,
452-230-TC and/or TL452-230-TC. The first one particularly interests me.

I'm having problems getting a large NOE bullet to feed.

I have some cast and coated bullets I could trade in 9mm/135ish grain. Maybe some 556/223 brass or money if such a thing interests you.

I think I have some of both of the TC styles left I was going to remelt because I went with a different mold. They're coated with red HiTek.

You can have them if you want them. PM me if you're interested, and I'll dig em out and send you better pics or whatever.

Are you seeing the round feed, but it hangs up just short of the slide closing all the way? This is due to having too much of the top band on the slug sticking out of the mouth of the case. With .45 auto loading, you don't pay much attention to published cartridge Overall Length (OAL). Instead, you want the top band (driving band) to be just above the mouth of the case. No more than about 0.010" should emerge from the case mouth. The .45 auto chambers have almost no throat. So, you have to keep the large diameter of the bullet away from the throat and rifling.

Anymore, most bullet shapes will feed pretty well in most 1911s and other .45 auto guns. Builders have figured out how to angle feed ramps and remove obstructions.

But, another reason some bullets won't feed well - most 250 grain bullets are long enough in their body (below the top band) to cause the case to swell at the bullet's base when they are seated to the correct OAL.

    good luck, garrisonjoe

Most of the issues I had with cast 45acp bullets went away when I started sizing .451 instead of .452. As always YMMV
