I have a '92 Winchester trapper takedown in 357 mag. One of my favorites.

I have the trapper win 94. No issues with 38 specials in mine so far. I don't care for the peep sight on it though.

Not a Winchester but a Marlin made Montgomery Wards ‘Trapper’ in 30-30 WCF very nice rifle better than the Marlin with basket weave checkering and steel everything.Using a Weaver 4 X scope it will do 8 of 10 silhouette pigs @ 300M using the Flex Tip bullets and Levevolution powder. I would grab another Trapper of any stripe ,was the Trapper ever chambered in 32 Special ?

I believe that it was offered in .32 Special but called the Wrangler.

Correct. I had one of those too. Nice shooter, but didn't bond with it. I hate those big loop levers. Look cool, but a PITA in real world usage. YMMD.

Veeman, I'm a big loop hater, too. As well as saddle rings and tang sights.
    Whew, I feel better!

I had installed one on my Trapper 45 Colt and my Ranger 30-30, and quickly realized the mistake. Got them off soon. Not a fan of tang sights either. They just are in the way of the hand. No feeling one way or tother on rings. Most of my winchesters have Skinner peeps, which I love, or full buckhorns.

I finally ordered a ‘66-‘73 carbine rear sight from Dixie last week so when it gets here I’ll get back on it and finish the inlet work on the carbine butt.

I named my .44 Trapper Thumper. And a Burris FastFire III on a Burris W94 mount is a wonderful upgrade. The saddle ring? I use a Magpul MS-2 single point sling, with a quick-release.

The noisiest rifles I have are my M1a, and my Garand. Both fitted with GI web slings. The spring clips, opposite end from the buckles, rattle like the dickens. I snap off small twigs, shove them inside the clip, and break them off. Works like a charm.

Just rig the sling on the rifle with out the J hook. Run the sling through the lower sling loop instead of the loop on the j buckle. Leave the j buckle in the cabinet until you return it to storage.

Keep it, you wont retire on what you will get for it, besides you will have a hard time replacing it. You will regret selling.

Put my carbine sight on and shot it at last Saturday’s cas match. The sights were coarser than I like but it ran great. Had two misses on stage 4 [my only misses] with it as I just ran it too fast, slowed a hair and was clean for the last two stages. Came in first anyway. A good build.

Like these trappers. Had to embellish mine a bit, but it has always shot well. Killed my 1st bull elk with this one, many moons ago. 30-30, 1973 vintage
