    Modifying Redding T-7

I'm looking for opinions on removing the mount for priming attachment on the T-7. It sticks up directly in front of the ram and blocks access to the case holder. I use other means to prime brass and will never acquire the Redding priming set-up. I've removed skin when I scraped my finger against the milled edge of the priming thingy.

Not sure why they changed. An old "Handloader's Digest"(1997) cover shows a less intrusive mount for priming.

I've considered just hack sawing it off. Do others that use the T-7 just put up with it?

I've had one for several years now. I clock the shell holder to give me a clear path and haven't had any problems. Now I'll probably gouge myself next time I use it.

I rotate the shell holder too but being right handed, it is still inconvenient/awkward. Using my left hand to insert the shell would place me directly behind the handle which in turn would move my body away from the press.

Like everything else, I'll make a decision someday.

I am right handed. I sit slightly to the left of my press(s). This lines up my right arm with the handle and I feed brass with my left hand. But, If there was something in my way , especially if it is not used, I'd just remove it and put in a safe place...
