    Question about gas checks

I'm Having a problem finding anyone that knows enough about sizes for my casting molds. Just getting started on casting.
Question will a .45 caliber gas check work on my .458 gas ck mold? For my 45/70
Ordered some from buffalo arms, they weren't sure. As were other sales people when I called.
if they do, will they also work on my .452 mold for my 45 colt? gs ck mold
I will using an RCBS lube-R-Sizer to lube and crimp the gas checks

I'm also going to load for my 38/55
question will #35 gas checks work on that mold? Its a .378 it also takes gas checks.
The RCBS sizer is also .378

They should in theory work. Caveat time, not all manufacturers of bullets and gass check use the same dimensions. So a 45 caliber gascheck will work with any 45 caliber bullet and 35 caliber gass check should work with any 35 caliber bullet. Sometimes they dont though because the inside dimensions of the gas check are too small. Sometimes one brand will work but another not.

Thats why there are gass check expander dies. I have to use one on my 6.5mm gas checks. They fit NOE bullets but not my RCBs.

If #35 means .35 cal. gas checks, the answer is NO.
You need .375 " gas checks for cast bullets that come from a 38/55 gas check mould.

There are 2 different sizes for 45 cal. Rifle and pistol. The rifle will not work on 452 size bulletssince the are .458
