    Being considerate ?????

    What is being considerate?????
These days it's had to tell.
I sell stuff on craigs list.
People call and want to see it.
We make a time for them to stop by.
A few never show up, and never call to say they changed their minds.
    Is the being IN-considerate?????
I buy stuff here from time to time.
I always let the seller know when I get the item.
I think it's the right thing to do.
When I sell stuff, I ask that they let me know when they get the item.
This way I know it got there.
    A few don't reply.
    Is this being IN-considerate?????
I guess, these days, being considerate is just something that has changed.
I will keep on doing it in hopes it becomes a good habit for others.

You'll get some real losers on Craig's List.

The few times I sell something, I post the times I'll be home anyway.
I'm done canceling my plans for no-shows.

I've gotten to where when someone says, "I might be there........."
I tell them, "OK, I might be here sometime around then".

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.

You have to be careful letting people to your home from Craig’s list. We do it with sales on market place only because we see their Facebook info, statis, pictures etc... we hope they are not mischievous.
Like you, I communicate on here when I send funds along with MO# so we both have record of it. When I receive the item AND post feedback so others can know the person is good to deal with.
Times are changing for sure ! Way to many rude ( inconsiderate ) people out there.
Handshake deals are almost non existent unless it’s between to older folks ( like me).
Best of luck to ya and be safe.

CL is a mess most of the time. I get calls or texts with "What's your bottom dollar?" I always reply with the listed price. I'll haggle with most but not when they start off that way.

I sold a trolling motor a few months back. A young guy was looking for one for his bass boat. Mine had too long of a shaft but it would fit his dad's pontoon boat so he bought it. It didn't fit and he called asking if I'd take it back. I've learned that you don't get through life too well being an ass, so I took it back. He was all apologetic and grateful. An hour later, I got a call from another guy who'd buy it sight unseen. He even wanted to pay me immediately so that no one else would get it. I told him that I'd hold it for him. The next day, he showed up, paid what I was asking and left content.

A co-worker and I were just talking about this yesterday. Seems as though that each generation gets a little more of the "it's all about me" attitude. If you say your going to do something then do it and if you cant (stuff happens) then have enough respect to pick up the phone.

OR, if you post an item for sale with all the info you can think of AND a buyer contacts you asking for additional info or pics, which you gladly supply, AND you never hear back! Not a thank you or even an acknowledgement they received the info. AND if you do hear back they are trying to get you to lower your price.
Probably one of my more irritating pet peeves.

My mother used to call that common courtesy. She said the problem with that and common sense is that they are not common.

I have to say CL for the most part is a waste of time.
Sometimes you get individuals that know what they want.
Everything that I try to sell is always at a below very good price.
Guess what most individuals want everything for free.
That's when I tell them go ask the vendor selling the same item if they will sell it for half price.
I would rather scrap the item then sell to these individuals .

When I deal with online market places, I tell people I've had a lot of interest in the item, and it's first come, first serve, money talks. That usually gets them off their duff if truly interested. I recently sold my old camper, and had a lot of responses. It turned into a bidding war between two guys, and I got $500 more than I was asking!
Facebook marketplace is real bad for flakes. On some items, I have stated must be over 40 years old to buy. That gets a lot of inquiries as the why, but I have found it to be younger people who are flakes the most often.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

I often wonder why some folks don't respond to a PM.
Are they being uncurteous, or did something happen to them that makes them unable to respond?
I currently have a WTB ad on this forum where a person responded claiming to have what I was seeking "in a drawer someplace " I sent him several PM's, and I 've heard nothing!
It's all chicken, even the beak!

    Exactly.
Seems these days people have forgotten that they are NOT the center of the universe.
I always try to treat people like I want to be treated.
But if I run across someone who is to pushy, I just try to end it.
We have a few here to that I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with.
I guess it's just a sign of the times.

I've been talking to people up here displaced by Ida and buying supply's.
They are grateful to find something on the shelf in the AC with the lights on.
