    Grizzly vs. Buffalo

Ask anti-hunters, would you rather go like this, or with a bullet?
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Man, that is brutal. Nature isn't always gentle or pretty.

It's hard to get any real perspective on size, but that's a young yearling buffalo, does that grizzly seem to be on the young (small) side also? I don't have a clue, but always think of grizzlies as big bears.

edit: just read a bit more and it could well be a mature female grizzly.

A neighbor and I used to raise bison. It looks like that bear has about 100# on the bison so it is not much of a contest. If the rest of the herd was around, that bear would have a problem so somehow the youngster must have gotten separated.

Meh. Give me a good knife and I'll take them both out...

It certainly wasn't a fast and painless death for the bison.

The bear didn't seem to have any problems handling it though.
