1/2 price molds direct from lee

I'm surprised others are not jumping on this opportunity. especially all the new casters that have taken up the hobby.
I took a look yesterday on the link through the header for lee and have a 6 cavity 356-124 on the way for $29 and a 2 cavity 310 158 for $14
with all the stuff out of stock they have some molds in the closeout section
I'll put them to good use

for that price, you get 1/2 of a mold set (hehe).
If it was easy, anybody could do it.

That 310-158 for $15 looks to be a good one. If I didn't have that task covered more than once, I'd get one too.

I only bought a single mold direct from Lee's Closeouts some years ago.
It cast undersize and I'm sure was a reject they couldent sell otherwise.
    I've never tried another..

I've read so much negative about the 356-124 TL about keyholing, but what the heck would a "modified nose" on this mold accomplish. It looks like someone pushed down on the top with the wrong punch on a sizer/lubricator.

some bullets just like to keyhole, like the 358430 in 38 spl. maybe its got something to do with velocity

Usually it is because the brass swages the bullet size down. Especially if an FCD is used and 9mm and 32ACP are two of the worse.

Given the trouble I've had with full-price Lee moulds over the years, I'm not going to buy from their "discount bin".

If they fly "straight" at belly gun distances, that has GOT to smart a mite going through flesh and bone.

I’ve looked at some of their discounted equipment before and thought it was a good deal, but never bought any, because it wasn’t exactly what I needed.

What's "need" got to do with getting a new mould ...
If it's priced right I'll buy just about any mould ... get a gun later or a friend gets a gun or you inherit a gun ... Then , you are all set ... "I've got a mould for that" has been my motto for 50 years ... way before that " I have an app for that" came along ...
... Besides , I would much rather have a boolit mould than some dumb app any day !

Man, that hit home with me. I was ordering a sizer die for my Lyman 450 yrs ago and I guess the poor lady on the phone at Midsouth thought I said .450 instead of .460. My lazy southern vernacular caused me to get the .450 and I thought " what in this world will I ever use this for?" So I tossed it in the box with the other dies and lo and behold when I bought a 25-5 S&W, it had .452 throats and the .450 die sized to exactly .4515. That's one reason we casters/shooters/ handloaders never know what we will use that ??? for. So hang on to that .515, you never know.
