I have some pre-WW2 WRA Co. .44-40 soft point ammunition loaded in the old balloon - head cases with Sharpshooter powder. The box does indicate that the round-cupped, nickel-plated primers are non-corrosive and non-mercuric. If you'd let me know how many cases you need, I could pull down some loaded rounds and send you some decapped, empty, unfired brass.

    Outpost75,
Thanks heaps for that. Yeah I'll take any you don't want. I have been looking for ages and unable to find any over here. They must be out there somewhere. Then I thought I should try with a thread to Cast Boolits, and there you go. If you send me a private message I will send you my address.

    Regards
    Bob.

Outpost ,dont send cases to Aus without an import permit......They wont get thru ,and there might be some kickback.....In some states the permits are free, and come quickly.

The longevity of such cases is not very high. I load the few I’ve found with black powder only and lose a case or three at every shooting/reloading cycle. Necks split, primer pockets swell and bases get sticky in shell holders.

Not cost-effective for a small quantity of only 100 or so cases, because I am not in the export business and don't want the bureaucratic hassle in complying with US ITAR and putting myself on the radar.

Bob In Aus...the permit is from Qld police and is free.......export of items from the US is exempt from ITAR under $100.....so a single case is exempt.

John.k, I'm not sure I understand what your saying. What do I do with the permit once I obtain it and how then does Outpost75 declare the 100 cases or so are under $100.

The import permit /(copy of) should be included in the shipment /you may be contacted by customs(border force) about the import, when you will have to present the permit to collect the item.......or it may just come thru............the permit is for Australia.......the under $100 value is US regulations ,ITAR rules.................two completely different things........The permit is issued by Queensland police ,and is free......in some other states there is a fee,as much as $30.

john.k, thanks for the reply. It looks like outpost75's post office wont send them anyway because he is not an export business. Its good to have that info though.

Deprimed, Empty Cartridge Cases - does anyone actually care about them being Mailed from US, to anywhere else?
