    Caldwell Chronograph

Lab Radar isn't getting cheaper and I haven't been feeling rich so I bought a Caldwell Chronograph for about $100 from Midway delivered. I lost my Shooting Chrony 5 years ago to fire. I had issues with the Chrony at first and was it heavily modded with side panels and was 98% reliable. The Caldwell worked right out of the box. 10 shots of 14.3g pellets at around 750 fps on an overcast day and it registered each one. Accuracy is supposed to be within 0.25%. I have no way check but I'm sure it's close enough for my needs. I'll try the App later and report but so far, it's a really good, cheap, chronograph.

Thanks for the report. I bought one about four months ago and it’s still in the box. I haven’t had a chance to get it out yet and I’ve been wondering whether or not it was worth buying. I also got it for a pellet rifle.

I love mine. Hooks right up to the iPhone and the screens are printable. Very nice piece of gear with that app. Saves a lot of writing and calculating. Screen shots can be linked to your reloading data spreadsheet as hyperlinks. Very sweet.

I thought about getting one of those a while back then passed on it.
I have a Chrony Beta model and it works pretty good. i think Ill order one of the Caldwell chronys, I like the Idea of having a link and printable data.
I s this the one you have? Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph Premium Kit
I like the Idea that the sun shades can be illuminated.
And it can be used with an android phone.

No, just the Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph, no kit. I have tripods and no intention of shooting indoors. I've got HF LEDs if I were to shoot indoors or at night. The box says IOS/Android.

Works well. I have been useing the Caldewll and APP for several years.

Whats really cool is you can export from the app and compile everything into an Excel or equivalent (I use linux). And keep good records.

Only issue i ever had. Was some times i would get erroneous readings when a lot of people where shooting super duper win mags. Not sure what i was picking up. I would just move to a less crowded lane.

I bought one last spring. No complaints here. Nice instrument.
