yeah, my Taurus 856UL shoots SUPER low with 125gr boolits, and just kinda low with 158gr SWCs. But I will live with it as it was made to carry, not to shoot much. It is fine at 5 yards in double action. Its weird but I shoot it lower in Single action.
Nope. I don't have a mold for heavier than 164gr (Lee TL358 158SWC). Really haven't tried to find a great load for it, it goes bang and at 5 yds I can hit a IPSC target.
A lot of the issue is that its real easy to pull the gun off target, and anything but perfect trigger control makes for a miss.

next week the mold arrives. I'm going to put together some test loads and tell how it went. the boolit LEE 358-158-rf can be lubricated with LLA?
Yes, LLA will work on the non -Tumble Lube design bullets, too.

The lighter bullet may be the culprit, but anytime I hear someone is shooting low, especially in a light handgun, I’d look at shooting technique first. You probably did, but in case not, rest the pistol solidly and fire a group. Dipping the barrel downwards in anticipation of recoil happens to the best of us and tends to be aggravated in a light pistol. Please post when you’ve sorted out the problem.

Not to sidetrack the intent of the thread, but the mention of the LEE 358-158 RF mold grabbed my attention. I didn't start reloading until 2011, fairly late in life, and an older buddy started shortly thereafter. He went all out and decided to try his hand at casting as well, and started with a 125 gr LEE mold. I ended up buying him a 6 cavity 358-158 RF mold and obtained a bit of "extra" lead in hopes of trying that boolit. After trying dozens of different commercial cast boolits, absolutely none can compete with the (usually inferior cast) 358-158 RF boolits I used to get from him. Looking back through the archives, that mold has had high marks for many years, and I can't understand why there's NO commercial source for that boolit.
Back on topic .... that would be by far my recommendation to cure the issue at hand.
Yeah, I'm old, a re-loading rookie, half dain braimaged .... but I don't smell (too) bad
