    Ram For RCBS A2

A fella on a FB group has a 1968 RCBS A2. The ram(hollow one) cracked. The folks at RCBS told him they no longer have that part, but if he sends it in, they will replace it with a new RC Supreme, if they can't fix it. I'm hoping one of y'all will know which rams will fit, or can be adapted.

Jim, I posted in that thread. The only way he's going to get a ram is take it from another press. It does not interchange with anything. Having a ram made is not too difficult, the hard part is finding someone to do it. The A series presses were all hand fitted and assembled.
He has a later A2 so it would be possible to make the ram in a single piece rather than the two piece design RCBS used.

From the looks of his ram he overstressed it. It may be still usable for simpler tasks like bullet seating etc, just not for heavy case sizing.

Used one of those presses for 25 years; I would send it in a heartbeat.

If I had an otherwise good A2, I think I'd get someone to make me a new ram.

The OP has had several replies on Facebook with offers to make a new ram.

I found a beat-up A2 on the "Second-hand" table in a local shop a couple of weeks ago. Before you get excited, they knew what they had. IIRC it had a $450 price tag on it, might have been more. I moved along.
