Ah..the humidity. Powder coat don't wanna stick today. Reckon I'll try it early in the morning before it heats up.

% relative humidity will be higher in the morning. Hence closer to the dew point.... Just sayin.

    Just like Ky.
    Miserable all day.
Most of the tanks are gone and the windows don't rattle anymore. I won't be able to sleep now.

Shake and bake not working too well here either 79 degrees and 90% humidity at 7:45am. I pretty much do all my casting and coating in the winter. I can still use the ES gun to powder coat if I really want or need to. Prettier results but much slower production.

Try using a vibratory case cleaner with airsoft bb's works like a charm. I had the same problem in Florida before we moved up to Tennessee.

I shake inside in AC and bake outside.
Boolits are only exposed to Humidity for about 10 seconds before going into a preheated oven.
    Seems to work.

Ditto. The dewpoint has been 72 degrees in north Texas. 83 degrees before dawn and dew on the cars. That’s wet!

I keep the cast boolits in the hallway overnight and put the boolits and powder into the container indoors. I then shake violently outdoors and stack the coated projectiles on the tray and bake.

You can try heating you bullets in the oven AT 140 degrees Not any hotter or you will have a huge ball of mess ...For about 10 minutes ...
take them out warm and dump in powder then shake as normal. This seems to help with the humidity is very high

I brought them and the powder inside overnight. The next morning..today..placed a heat lamp over them. Used a piece of pvc in my rock tumbler. It worked. They be coated good now.

    Good to hear that.

After decades in Sacramento where the dewpoint is in the low 30's (humidity can be 10%) and PC'ing was super easy, I thought it would be a challenge moving to Texas with its humid summers. Well, at least powder coating turned out to be very easy when you can keep your house at 72 degrees and 58% humidity (dewpoint 56) with the A/C. Just find a place to keep your cast boolits indoors before powder coating them.

Maybe try the wet pc method (THE PIGLET METHOD)

    https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...-Piglet-Method

    Wet PC

Method 1- Get powder coat and mix in a ratio of 1 table spoon of powder to 3 table spoons of acetone.

A - measure out your acetone and get it into a container I use a mason jar.
B - Measure out a table spoon of powder and slowly mix it into the acetone. I leave two bullets in the bottom to act as an agitator.
C - Mix well so that there are no clumps of powder left.
D - drop about 50 ish boolits in another container and tumble continuously so that the boolits do not start to stick together.
E - Lay out you boolits on a 1/4" screen and continue to shake to eliminate sticking and hold over a fan to expedite drying.
F - Place screen / tray into oven at 400 for 15 minutes.
G - After heating. Pull them out and separate them from the screen and cool again over fan.
H - repeat steps D through G until you get the desired thickness.

I am trying an alternate method for better / more smooth results. It will likely require a decent set up and some money to be able to do this method for production. I will test the rounds this weekend in my Glock 19 and give a report.

I have sized these before coating and again after coating. This worked well.
I have also sized them only after coating and the coating does not come off.

Here are my boolits with the alternate method. The alternate method is a one coat one bake set up. Saves a lot of time!

4 Parts acetone / 1 Part powder coat
    Very thin.
Result - Did not size well enough for my liking. Scrapped!

3 Parts acetone / 1 Part powder coat
Very thick, even and great color
Result - Sized great and loaded for shooting!

KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY relates to PC also. Limit the time your PC is open/exposed to the air.
preheat boolits either in the oven <150° or on top of the oven (warms and dries them out)
My friend and I live in the NW and we often coat in the garage, with the door open and it pouring down rain outside.
