    Mad Designer at play LOL

This is a fairly simple tool, very fast to make - Sore finger so I designed this to help open pop top cans (with whatever contents.)

Slide the lever in to get a good hold of the ring, lever / pull etc. the can open. About 26 lines of code.

Pen holder for my coding area, you can't really see the clip on the back but can see how the pens fit & pen's clips would latch into the designed spots.

Usually if I don't keep things zippered up or otherwise containerized, this happens to them:

I still can't bring myself to learn a cad program. Maybe this winter.

Conditor - Very true! These two are calming with age, still, a bored cat can make a MESS. Zippers or closed boxes for everything unless it weighs over a pound LOL

CAD programs arent as daunting or scary once you get some experience. Give TinkerCaD a whirl. Its the easiest to learn in my opinion.

Everything is just a decorated base shape.

Pro tip- whatc your units of measurement. Marlin and your slicer is in mm. If you design something in inches then your dimensions are off.

Which ever cad you pick, stick with it for a good while.....they are so different that mixing two or three will only slow you down and confuse.

RCMaverick, I move everything into mm, OpenSCAD lets me write a lil function:

    function i2mm(I) = I * 25.4;

This function seems to be in all my scripts, just in case

Think I am done with this one for now. Almost, the hinge sets aren't quite symmetrical; It's always something!

Made an OpenSCAD script that I can make cases for most any cartridge with, so far it's always 2 shells wide (Easier on me LOL) but can be any number of cases long. So far info in there for 22lr, 44 mag, 357 mag, 45 acp, 45 colt, and 300 bo. Will add many more though

Comes with latch and the cases are retained similar to those MTM Case-Gard Ammo Wallets. Pics below aren't to same scale...

Oh, forgot to mention, see the text at lower left? Labelled as part of the case bottom

My wife has fingernails.....very good for cans of refreshment, back scratching, ETC. I can't figure out my DVR, let alone CAD. We also have three cats, if I ever figure out how I can post pictures, I will share( two are over 28lbs). The oldest one.....will run down the hall and jump on my wife's head, of course her running from door to door down the hall and peering out long enough to laugh, has nothing to do with it. OH and cats love to "bat" around primers, cases and all other small items in the shop......they are good at mousing though....and cheaper than a divorce
    Do I have a knife....Ive got my pants on don't I.

I post my pictures to imgur.com, then get the "direct link" on there and use that to bring the picture to here. imgur is, sadly, pretty full of anti-gun folks, so I don't argue with those a lot, have better things to do really

I have arthritis and some cans are tough, though my hands are huge so sometimes I just grin and bear the pain - A lot of those rings are smallish for my yeti hands though. And I also plan to use that tool when camping, sometimes I camp in snow or rain and hands get cold. Last pretty cold time it got down to 10 degrees unexpectedly one night, I just put my coat on top of my sleeping bag and an extra mexican blanket over my lower body and though I woke up a little shivery, did fine. A lot of the other folks went back to their cars (300 yards or so away) and slept with the engine running the heater.

Fixed the hinge positions, looked at it and figured a symmetrical way to do it. Still learning some OpenSCAD commands but getting better at it.
