    Remove Kroil?

To release a tiny screw from a threaded partially blind hole — I removed front sight blade from its base on barrel — I put a drop of Kroil® in the hole atop the screw and let it work for a few days to loosen locktite-type material. The screw is so small and its hexhead is so small that I feared stripping the head.

To install a front sight blade and secure it in place, how do I remove all trace of Kroil?

    Any petroleum solvent will work.

For your project, I'd hold the area with a rag and spray carb. or brake cleaner in the hole with the little tube to really flush it out.

Oh,,,,, don't look at it when ya spray. That stuff wants to bounce out and go straight for your eyes.

A stick soldering iron will heat the screw and soften the locktite bond too. unless the sight base is plastic. Yup I melted one once.

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Acetone as suggested but something thats on all my benches is brake cleaner. A couple blases clears off most any petroleum product.
Its THE cleaner for my casting/molds.

    Good luck
