    Question drying out damp PC

    another thread got me thinking:

how do you go about 'drying' out PC that has been left open in humid garage?

Open inside a house that has A/C for a few days?

    lightly heat the powder?

    just curious . . .

Open in front of AC works, a dehumidifier works or you could dry it in an oven <140° (if you get lumps, they will be pulverized when you ASBBDT).

I save every silica desiccant packet I find. Store them in glass jars. I would drop a couple in the container and seal it up.

A cheap source for the calcium chloride is that ice melt stuff. I mistakenly left a bag of it open in the garage and it turned into a wet rock leaking water all over the floor. A very aggressive dehumidifier. It's in a bucket now and nearly full of water. BTW, the fully saturated calcium chloride/water solution is great ice melt stuff too for light ice/snow on steps and porches.

I store my powders in glass jars with a rubber liner seal, similar to canning jars/lids. I then store the closed jars in a large MTM plastic ammo can which has a rubber seal and I put a jar of opened silica in the container. The box is then stored in my air conditioned basement where relative humidy hovers around 45%. My powders are completely dry and stick to the bullet very well

I am betting a a hour or so in texas sun would do the trick.. spread out thin on a pan. Just not on any pan that will magnify the suns heat and not 100 + degrees
