    My best group yet!

Today was a pretty good day testing the AS-Mold Company’s Twister slug. This slug comes with center pins to produce 3, 4, 5, or 6 segments or petals.

I loaded the 3 and 4 petal with 35 grs of Longshot for an average velocity of 1480fps and 38 grs of Steel (I gotta check the video, but I believe that was around 1380 or so).

The groups where shot using my Savage 212 rifled barrel at a distance of 50 and 100 yards.

Longshot produced a group of 2.8” at 50 yards:

The Steel group shot one hole:

I have the YouTube video editing right now.

Folks, I’m pretty excited about this!

    Here’s the slug:

Man, I don’t know what my deal is, HT. I just ain’t mad at’em like I’ve always been.

Our end of the year push to get these nets out bumped up about 2.5 months and when I’m not working, all I wanna do is play with the kids and sleep.

I might go out in a few days, though.

That Steel group is excellent. Who would've thunk powder could make such a difference. But there you are... What was the SD numbers on the loads?

Not sure if it is the powder coat. I did a side by side comparison of traditional sized and lubed .44 mag against pc boolits. Everything else was the same. The pc loads shot faster but the lubed loads printed a tighter group. That’s not to say it wouldn’t have the opposite affect in shotguns though.

As for SD, you’re the first person to ask about that. Everyone else seems to focus on avg velocity. I’ll make a note of it next time.

    Pretty impressive BT!

Have you shot any critters with them? Or expansion test media?

Just curious about expansion/penetration. If they open up big do they still go through a big pig... or through far enough?
