10% intermediate burning smokeless like 4227 or so, and the rest 2Fg black powder under a 350 gr. paper patched bullet cast from 20:1 lead/tin. Duplicates the service load and tracks to the sights out to 800M.

Lee 310 bullet

Accurate 43-335B both at 50 yards

I have had good luck with Alliant 2400 16 to 18 grains with the 310 (no gas checks used on the lee bullet), 16-17 grains for the 335.

16.6-grains of 2400 for the Italian Vetterli-Vitali load, under a 44Mag 240-grn bullet sized down to 0.426", so the loaded round will chamber.

Offhand groups to 3" at 100-yards, in competition no less.

You should be joining the Cast Bullet Assoc. They have military categories off bench and standing. Here's a pic of the current 10 shot record target shot in Big Bore Offhand. Although it's a score target, group measures 5-5/8". Was shot with a Swiss M78 Vertterli. You should be able to crush that one.
